The Diversity Project has joined forces with Women Returners to launch a six-month returnship programme in London to help financial professionals return to work after a break. It is targeted at experienced professionals looking to return to work after an extended career break of 18 months or more (as at April 2020) who are interested in working within the savings and investment sector.

The seven participating finance sector employers include BlackRock, BNY Mellon, Fidelity Investments, Legal and General Investment Management, Schroders, State Street Global Advisory and Willis Towers Watson. The participating firms believe that there is an extraordinary opportunity to press the re-set button in the industry: to recruit, nurture and retain the first truly diverse generation of Savings and Investment professionals. The programme will run for six months, starting on 27th April 2020.

CHAMPIONING INCLUSION

It’s hoped the industry-led initiative Diversity Project: Cross-Company Returner Programme will champion a more inclusive culture within the Savings and Investment sector.

Fidelity International’s Head of European Talent Acquisition, Stephanie Marshall, says she is ‘excited to welcome more returners’ to the firm this Spring. “Diversity of thought is critical to understanding and delivering on the needs of our clients more effectively, so we can work together to build better financial futures. From our previous Returners programmes, we know how much value returners have already brought to Fidelity and it’s been a privilege to see them building their confidence and flourishing in their careers with us,” comments Marshall.
