The Business Disability Forum (BDF) has launched a collection of essential resources and guidance for businesses ahead of International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The Disability Essential collection provides companies with free access to disability resources, offering support on key disability employment matters. The ‘essential’ range covers key areas, such as:

  • Attracting and recruiting disabled talent
  • Being an inclusive manager
  • Managing workplace adjustments
  • Welcoming disabled customers
  • Understanding the law around disability

The non-profit, business and disability membership organisation has launched the collection as part of its celebrations to mark the UN’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3 December.

DISABILITY SMART RESOURCES

“Businesses often tell us that they want to do more to attract and retain disabled employees or to meet the needs of disabled customers; but don’t know how,” highlighted Diane Lightfoot, CEO of Business Disability Forum. “We have created the Disability Essentials range to provide all businesses with key disability guidance on topics that we are most often asked about. We hope that many organisations will find the resources useful as they look to become more disability smart.”

You can access the Disability Essentials range on Business Disability Forum’s website here.

Free resources that promote disability inclusion like these are invaluable, particularly as discrimination towards employing disabled people persists. For example, did you know that 1 in 5 employers are less likely to employ people with a disability? Click here to find out more.
