Ethnicity Awards 2022

The organisers of this year’s UK Ethnicity Awards have revealed 2023’s finalists.

Business leaders and global corporations including Google, Channel 4, Paramount, Lloyds Banking Group and Jaguar Land Rover have been shortlisted for a series of top accolades ahead of the Ethnicity Awards, in partnership with HSBC, which will take place at an awards ceremony in London on 2 November 2023.

The Ethnicity Awards celebrate individuals and organisations that support Black, Asian and diverse Ethnic communities. The Ethnicity Awards strive to recognise those who work tirelessly within the public eye, politics and workplace to make a positive impact on diversity, equality and inclusion (DEI).

OUTSTANDING COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY & INCLUSION

This year’s awards will acknowledge milestones in politics, media, grassroots activism and the corporate world at the event, which is now in its sixth year. Stonewater, BT, Jacobs and UBS are amongst those shortlisted for the coveted Outstanding Employer of the Year award. They are all shortlisted for demonstrating an outstanding commitment to the betterment and progression of equality and diversity in the workplace.

Mohammed Basid of CBRE, Jay Rohman at Lloyds Banking and Mandisa Gordon of Jaguar are all shortlisted for Inspirational Leader of the Year, as well as Raghhu Narula at Natwest and Phoenix Group’s Rakesh Thakrar among others in the same category.

Other leading business names nominated include Tesco, Legal and General and Network Rail. Meanwhile, a number of corporate names have been shortlisted in the Workplace Hero category including Aderinsola Bamgbelu of Warner Brothers, Seleeta Watson at Computacenter and James Barkley of Rolls Royce.

ADVANCING INCLUSION

“This is an incredibly exciting mix of some of the world’s most respected diversity and inclusion providers,” stated Ethnicity Awards Founder Sarah Garrett MBE. “These awards exist to shine a light on the individuals, organisations and charities who are helping to make the world a better place for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities during what continues to be a very challenging time. The nominees are all role models who have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to raising awareness of, or advancing, inclusion and diversity in their respective spaces, whether it be business, politics, media or grassroots.

“The Ethnicity Awards remain as important as ever and all of our nominees are incredibly deserving. It is going to be a wonderful event as always and I cannot wait to see everyone on November 2nd.”
