More than 50 global tech firms will be attending this year’s 2019 Grace Hopper Celebration India (GHCI 19) and career fair, confirmed the organisers AnitaB.org and ACM India. It’s the largest event for women in tech in Asia, which attracted around 5,376 female technologists from around the world last year.

GHCI 19’s Career Fair is scheduled to take place on 6th-8th November 2019 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre in India, alongside GHCI’s annual conference.

SEEKING DIVERSE CANDIDATES

Global firms attending this year’s event include Google, American Express, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Western Digital, Wells Fargo, Netapp, Oracle, SAP, Credit Suisse, Adobe and Intuit.

“The Career Fair at GHCI 19 will have representation from over 50 leading technology companies from across the globe,” stated Maggie Inbamuthiah, Managing Director of AnitaB.org India. “This year, many of our sponsors are focusing on ways to recruit a diverse pool of candidates. Sponsors are also committed to recruiting and supporting working mothers, and women technologists who have taken breaks from their careers to raise their families.”

LANDMARK CELEBRATION

GHCI also celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. “2019 is a landmark year for Grace Hopper Celebration India (GHCI), as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Celebration and the achievements of women in technology,” commented Inbamuthiah. “GHCI will continue to support and inspire women technologists to break boundaries and transform the world of technology.”

According to the organisers, GHCI has played a significant role in raising the profile of all women in technology over the last few years, encouraging young women to consider careers in tech, and giving companies a venue to showcase their diversity, equity and inclusion credentials.

SHOWCASING INNOVATIVE TALENT

“We are delighted to be back in Bangalore for the 10th Anniversary of GHCI,” said AnitaB.org President and CEO, Brenda Darden Wilkerson.

“Bangalore hosts our second largest event and it’s inspiring to see this community come together to continue the movement to reach global 50/50 intersectional gender equity in tech by 2025. GHCI will celebrate the wealth of talent here in the region and showcase the incredible and innovative female technologists present in this community,” she added.
