The Ethisphere Institute has announced the 136 companies that have been honoured as the World’s Most Ethical Companies in 2024.

This year marks the 18th annual listing of the World’s Most Ethical Companies recognition by the global non-profit that defines and measures corporate ethical standards. As in past years, honourees must demonstrate a commitment to ethical business practices through robust programmes that positively impact employees, communities, and broader stakeholders, as well as contributing to sustainable, long-term business growth.

This year’s honourees, spanning 20 countries and 44 industries, outperformed their peers by 12.3% from January 2019 to January 2024, according to non-profit. “Ever since Ethisphere has tracked the equity performance of public honouree companies, the Ethics Premium has always shown that the programmes and practices that lead an organisation to be named one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies also help it excel financially,” stated Erica Salmon Byrne, Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Chair of Ethisphere. “Strong ethics is good business. The Ethics Premium proves it.”

Every day, businesses must earn and keep the trust of stakeholders, from employees and investors, to regulators, and others. “By leading with business integrity – and investing in strong governance, an ethical culture, corporate citizenship, and compliance – organisations not only build trust, but also outperform. We congratulate this year’s honourees and commend their dedication to doing well by those they serve,” added Byrne.

Fifteen companies on this year’s list are being recognised for the first time. There are also six companies that have been recognised 18 times, since the inception of the award in 2007. They include Aflac, Ecolab, International Paper, Kao Corporation, Milliken & Company and PepsiCo.
