BAME male role models

The Civil Service Race Forum has organised a virtual event to celebrate positive Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) male role models.

The event is scheduled to take place on International Men’s Day on 19th November. Its main purpose is to highlight the positive value men bring to the world, their families and communities. This year, the theme is “men leading by example”.

The virtual event will showcase positive male role models from minority communities. The event aims to inspire, empower and encourage and motivate men of colour who are Civil Servants. It also hopes to build a cadre and network of BAME men across the Civil Service.

“We are keen to improve the representation levels of ethnic minority men across the Civil Service, particularly those at more senior grades,” said the organiser. “One of the ways of raising aspiration is to see and hear from role models; those who have made a difference and championed race equality and inclusion in their respective businesses. We are using this date as an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our men of colour across the Civil Service and beyond; celebrate fantastic men who just happen to be from a BAME background.”
