Best Places to Work in 2021

Glassdoor has announced the Best Places to Work in 2021 and the winners of its 13th annual Employees’ Choice Awards.

The global jobs and companies platform reveals the Best Places to Work across the US, Canada, UK, France and Germany amid the pandemic. Bain & Company claims the top spot with a 4.6 rating and is one of three employers to make the list every year for the past 13 years. The other two are Google (No. 6) and Apple (No. 31). Life.Church scooped the top ranking among Small & Medium Companies list for the second year in a row. This year, however, only one employer – Salesforce – appears on all five lists (US large companies, Canada, UK, France and Germany).

The top 10 Best Places to Work in 2021, according to Glassdoor’s rankings, include:

3. In-N-Out Burger (4.5 rating)

4. HubSpot (4.5 rating)

5. McKinsey & Company (4.5 rating)

6. Google (4.5 rating)

7. Delta Air Lines (4.5 rating)

8. lululemon (4.5 rating)

9. Microsoft (4.5 rating)

10. H E B (4.4 rating)

The top five Best Small & Medium Companies to Work For in 2021 are:

1. Life.Church (4.9 rating)

2. Crew Carwash (4.9 rating)

3. Ike (4.9 rating)

4. Pariveda Solutions (4.9 rating)

5. Malouf (4.9 rating)

EXCEPTIONAL EMPLOYERS AMID PANDEMIC

NEWCOMERS & REJOINERS

Notably, with the Covid-19 pandemic, there are six biotech and pharmaceutical employers on this year’s list, a 200% increase from last year’s list, including Johnson & Johnson (No. 24), Pfizer (No. 39), and Eli Lilly and Company (No. 87). There are 19 newcomers on the US large company list in 2021, including Royal Caribbean Group (No. 30), Universal Orlando Resort (No. 52), PayPal (No. 59), Northwell Health (No. 65) and Discover (No. 92). 

Twenty-two employers rejoined the list in 2021, including Zoom Video Communications (No. 22), Walt Disney Company (No. 53) and Marriott International (No. 80). Among the 50 Best Small & Medium Companies to Work For in 2021, 33 employers are newcomers and four are rejoining the list this year.  

Glassdoor’s 100 Best Places to Work in 2021 list features winning employers across a range of industries, including technology, health care, biotech and pharmaceuticals, retail, travel and tourism, consulting, finance and more. Unlike other workplace awards, the Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Awards are based on the input of employees who voluntarily provide anonymous feedback by completing a company review about their job, work environment and employer over the past year.
