Correct name pronunciation matters

The organisers of Race Equality Week have announced the launch of #MyNameIs Campaign on 16 November 2021 to help pronounce people’s names correctly.

Did you know that 73% of professionals said they had their names mispronounced, which made them feel ‘not valued or important’, ‘disrespected’ and ‘that they didn’t belong’, according to Race Equality Matters; the organiser of Race Equality Week. So it has announced the launch of #MyNameIs to help get people’s names right.

During this event you will hear:

  • The impact of getting someone’s name wrong and why it is important to get someone’s name right.
  • About the #MyNameIs campaign and the solution to tackle this, from organisations already adopting #MyNameIs
