LGBTQ+ in sports

myGwork, the global LGBTQ+ business platform, will be hosting LGBTQ+ in Sport: Stories from the Pitch on 16 February 2022 (4pm).

In the last few years, representation for LGBTQ+ people in sport has increased. With more sportspeople feeling able to come out – albeit really slowly, more and more LGBTQ+ role models are emerging for younger sportspeople.

This free virtual event explores sportspeople’s experiences on and off of the pitch, tackling homophobia, the pressures to come out or remain in the closet, and building strong relationships with teammates in a world where increasingly more sports are finding their first out athletes.

Speakers include Professional Rugby Player Devin Ibanez, Synechron’s Vitor de Oliveiri, Unilever’s David Mason, HSBC UK’s Skwirel Vincent, White Crow Research’s Emery Fung and Co-chair of UK Pride in Football’s Joe White.
