Andrew Davis as Executive VP & Global Chief HR Officer

Sony Music Entertainment (SME) has announced the appointment of Andrew Davis to the role of Executive Vice President and Global Chief Human Resources Officer.

Beginning in early January 2021 and based in New York, Davis will report to Rob Stringer, Chairman, Sony Music Group and Kevin Kelleher, Chief Operating Officer, Sony Music Entertainment. With experience leading teams at Fortune 500 companies, Davis will be charged with leading SME’s global human resources function including talent acquisition, talent management, compensation and benefits, as well as organisational development across the company’s global operations.

Most recently, Davis served as Chief Human Resources and Inclusion Officer for Lennar Corporation where he was responsible for the areas of business transformation, talent management, organisational and performance management, learning and development as well as benefits for the Company. Prior to Lennar, he spent more than a decade leading human resources teams and strategies at The Coca-Cola Company. During his tenure at the Company, he held several key positions of increasing responsibility including leading the Southeast Asia Human Resource function while based in Cambodia. Additionally, he was instrumental in driving diversity and inclusion initiatives across the global organisations. 

DIVERSITY CHAMPION

Before joining The Coca-Cola Company, Davis held various roles in Human Resources at The Home Depot. He was responsible for all aspect of Human Resources where he developed and implemented tools and strategies to drive cultural change and increase the quality and diversity of the employee candidate pool. Davis began his career in various roles at BET, Yum Brands and Best Buy where he led Human Resources activities for various Best Buy divisions and business units including its China operations. 

Born in Jamaica, Davis received his Bachelor of Science in Organisational Management from Washington Adventist University and his MBA from Emory University Goizueta Business School. He is a member of Emory’s Goizueta’s Business School Corporate Advisory Board, and a governing body member of Florida’s Chief Human Resource Officers’ Association. He also serves as an independent Board Director and Compensation Committee Chair for Adventist Health, one of the largest West Coast healthcare systems. 

Davis has been honoured and featured by multiple organisations, including being named Emory Goizueta’s Business School Centennial Honouree; CAA World Congress of Sports featured speaker; Bentonville Film and Essence Music Festivals featured speaker; as well as Black Enterprise Top Executive in Corporate Diversity. He is also the recipient of the Caribbean American Cultural Arts Foundation Captain of Industry Award.
