Tech startup Panther Data Solutions has announced the launch of a new tool to identify and prevent workplace bias and discrimination.

According to the minority-owned tech company, its Racial Bias Alert tool will help to “pave the way for business leaders to proactively ensure a culture of genuine diversity and inclusion”. Black professionals, more than any other race, are more likely to experience racial bias in the workplace, confirmed a study by Coqual (previously the Center for Talent Innovation). The Panther Data Solutions company, launched by Black Progress Matters’ Minority-Business Incubation Program, however believes that its latest tool can help to put a stop to that.

ELIMINATING RACIAL BIAS

While most organisations today have racial bias response protocols and remediation strategies, Racial Bias Alert is the “first solution to provide an immediate deterrent to racial bias in an organisation,” according to the startup.  It enables leading organisations to have instant-impact in eliminating racial bias in the workplace by monitoring internal communications – such as email, text messages, etc – for any indication of racial bias.

“In addition to being the right thing to do, the reduction and elimination of racial bias or discriminatory incidents is now a business necessity,” stated Dean Haynesworth, CEO of Panther Data Solutions and the Executive Minority Founder of Black Progress Matters.

In the current social and political climate, “maintaining the highest standards for an organisation’s behaviour is critical to the overarching success of any business”, he added. “Beyond the obvious legal risks, the potential for unresolved racial bias to damage an organisation’s morale, recruiting, and reputation is high, and our Racial Bias Alert cloud-delivered solution provides an instant and ongoing remedy.  It’s a game-changer for organisations that are truly committed to eliminating racial bias.”
